Potassium Silicate Solution

Potassium silicates are water-soluble compounds composed of potassium oxide (K₂O) and silica (SiO₂), produced by melting high-purity sand with potassium carbonate to form potassium silicate glass. These materials are available in various SiO₂:K₂O ratios and come in liquid form.

Often used as an alternative to sodium silicate, potassium silicates offer higher solubility and are preferred in applications where potassium ions are more beneficial than sodium. In liquid detergents, they enhance solubility, resist phosphate reversion, aid in oil saponification, and help prevent soil redeposition.

Typical Applications:

  • Alkaline Cleaners
  • Antifreeze
  • Antiredeposition Agent
  • Cement
  • Corrosion Inhibitors
  • Detergents
  • Heavy Duty Cleaners
  • Laundry Detergents
  • Machine Dishwash
  • Mortar
  • Paint & Coatings
  • Refractories
  • Zinc-Rich Coatings
