Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate SLES (70%) 2 Mol EO
Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate also known as sodium laureth sulfate 70 (2 Mol EO) is a popular anionic surfactant of choice used in all kinds of hard surface cleaners, transportation cleaners, carpet and textile applications and personal care products. Typically an excellent foamer regardless of water hardness. SLES is relatively unaffected by changing water hardness, which is very benefical when making cleaner formulations.
Since Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate has the added ether, personal care products made with it are less irritating and milder for skin and hair products. This addition makes it the ideal choice for making quality high foaming products like bubble bath, shower gel, shampoo, facial cleansers, and liquid hand cleaners.
It finds other uses in household cleaners for fabric care, hand dish wash, and also car care
Viscosity of formulations can be increased by addition of amides or betaines which will also serve to improve foam stability.
Level 7 Chemical also offers Cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) which is often used with Sodium Lauryl Ether sulfate in personal care products acting as a secondary surfactant to enhance foam, improve texture, and significantly reduce the potential skin irritation caused by the primary SLES. This combination creates a gentler, richer, and more stable cleansing system, a staple in mainstream formulations for balanced performance and mildness.
