Citric Acid has a broad range of uses. It is used to adjust pH in all kinds of applications. In foods, it is a flavor enhancer bringing a familiar sour / tartness taste.
The primary uses of citric acid is an acidulant.
Used as sequestrant of metal ions to give protection from the development of off flavors and odors in certain foodstuffs.
A major use of citric acid is in the manufacturing of ecologically compatible detergents and cleaners.
