Celatom FW-12 Diatomaceous Earth

Celatom FW 12 is a quality filter aid made of calcined diatomaceous earth.

Diatomaceous earth is a very porous inert, insoluble particle structure, a powder, that traps suspended impurities, as it permits liquid to pass through, making it a very effective filter. Beyond filtration diatomaceous earth products like FW 12 are commonly used as a filler in coatings and plastics, a carrier for chemicals, an insulating material, and as amild abrasive in polishes for example. Another important use is as a precoat in the filtration of industrial wastewater. It increases the solid contents of sludge and reduces the total volume of sludge that needs to be disposed.

It can also be used in swimming pools as a filter aid.

DE powder also finds uses for manufacturing beverages including beer and wine. The diatomaceous earth (DE) is widely used as a filter aid to remove impurities and achieve a clear, stable product.

Celatom FW-12 Diatomaceous Earth Filter White aid is manufactured and packaged by EP Minerals. It is regulated under TSCA and CERCLA in the Untied States, and under WHMIS Classification internationally.

Characteristics

Celatom FW-12 Diatomaceous Earth is a flux-calcined diatomaceous earth (DE) material that ranges in color from bright white to light pink. It is an odorless solid that has a pH value of 10 (10% suspension). Sieve Analysis (Tyler) 3-15% @ 150 Mesh (>105 microns), Less than 1% is soluble in water. The filter has a permeability range of 650-1150 millidarcies.
