Calcium Chloride 32% Food Grade
Calcium Chloride 32% Food Grade Solution is a purified inorganic salt solution produced by removing water from a naturally occurring brine solution. It is a highly versatile liquid product used primarily in deicing, dust control, and concrete acceleration applications. Other applications include tire weighting, brine refrigeration, and waste water treatment. In deicing 32% concentration reduces overall application rate, which is good for the environment. It also increases melting speed and improved cold weather performance, which helps makes the roads safe quicker.
Calcium Chloride is assigned the food additive identifier E509 and serves as both a sequestrant and a firming agent. In sports drinks and beverages, it finds application as an electrolyte. Additionally, it functions as a preservative, retaining the firmness of canned vegetables. In pickles, higher concentrations can impart a salty taste without raising the food's sodium levels.
