Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate
Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate is a very versatile chemical used in a wide variety of applications such as car wash soap to paint stripping. It can be used as a corrosion inhibitor, adhesive, and even a sealant. It is an excellent source of alkalinity in detergent formuations. It's function in detergents is deflocculation, emulsification, buffering action, and prevention of redisposition. The alkalinity of sodium metasilicate allows it to neutralize acidic soil. The strong buffering capacity maintains the pH at a high level in the presence of acidic soils. It is also rapidly soluable in water.
