Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate is a versatile chemical used in many specialty applications.
It is an alkaline type chemical used in many kinds of cleaners, detergents, including detergents for heavy duty cleaning and scouring, to car wash soap It can be used as a corrosion inhibitor, adhesive, and even a sealant. It is an excellent source of alkalinity in detergent formuations. It's function in most detergent formulations is to clean, cut grease, prevent redepsoition.
It is sometimes used to neutralize acidic soil.
