Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate (TSPP) FCC

Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate (TSPP) is a widely used chemical, found in all kinds of applications. In food, it is used as a buffer for puddings and processed foods. It can also be used as a calcium sequestrant.

It is also used in specialty formulations in water treatment since it offers excellent softening, peptizing, and dispersing properties. This can help with magnesium hardness, scale control, sequestering. Some grades are used for corrosion prevention, if they are labeled as meeting the requirements for the EPA Lead and Copper rule.
