Sodium Metasilicate Anhydrous
Sodium Metasilicate Anhydrous is a versatile chemical used in a wide variety of applications such as car wash soap to paint stripping. It is formulated in to products like corrosion inhibitors, adhesives, and sealants. It is used as a way to add alkalinity to detergent formuations. It's function in detergents is deflocculation, emulsification, buffering action, and prevention of redisposition.
The alkalinity of sodium metasilicate allows it to neutralize acidic soil. The strong buffering capacity maintains the pH at a high level in the presence of acidic soils. It is also rapidly soluable in water, but much less so than Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate.
