Heat Transfer Fluids

Fluid thermodynamics is a branch of science and engineering that has four main fields: heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and combustion. Heat transfer is the use, exchange, generation, and conversion of thermal energy (heat) between physical systems.  You can also think of it as the energy exchanged between any solid, liquid, or gas as a result of temperature difference.

A heat transfer fluid is a liquid or gas that is involved in heat transfer by serving as a mediator in cooling on one side of a process, transporting and storing thermal energy, and heating on the other side of a process. Heat transfer fluids are used in a multitude of applications in many different areas.

Deionized Water

Deionized water is a high purity water where nearly all of the impurities and ionized minerals and salts have been removed through the process of ion exchange. This purification process is sometimes referred to as "water polishing." Water is the most common heat transfer fluid, mainly because of how economical it is. It also has a high heat capacity as well as favorable transport properties. While nearly all of the impurities have been removed, some essential ions are still present in the water which makes it less corrosive to equipment. Don't get Deionized Water and Distilled Water confused. Distilled water has had all of the impurities/ions removed so it is extremely corrosive.

JeffCool E100

JeffCool E100 is an inhibited Ethylene Glycol based industrial coolant and heat transfer fluid. It is designed to provide efficient, reliable heat transfer in a wide range of industrial applications. Here are some of the key capabilities and features of JeffCool E100:
