Tall Oil Fatty Acid (TOFA)
Tall Oil Fatty Acid comes from Tall Oil, which is derived from the resinous part of pine trees. It is a byproduct of the kraft process, which is a method used to make paper from wood pulp. Part of it's appeal is that it's renewable and biodegradable, making it a more eco-friendly option compared to petroleum-based fatty acids.
